• Design, Plan Data/Voice Network, provide consultancy for Network Maintenance Team and overall IT Services operation including network infrastructure (Wired, Wireless) , data communications, and telecommunications systems to ensure performance meets company and user requirements.• To manage the IT Network/Infrastructure/Support teams.• Support the strategic service delivery of IT Department.• To act as the 3rd line IT specialist, delivering solutions to complex technical issues.• Managing The Network / Infrastructure-based ProjectsKey Activities• To ensure The Company network is comply with the requirements Service Level.• Responsible Of capacity planning for Network services provided to Company Employees to ensure that expectations are managed and packages of work delivered working within a framework of the business calendar IT Director.• To assist (or where necessary lead) on the development of business cases and ad-hoc projects requiring support from the ICT infrastructure team.• Design, configure, optimize, monitor and maintain the LAN and WANs and in doing so providing an effective, reliable and secure communications infrastructure that follows industry best practice to underpin all corporate• To ensure the integrity of the Council’s electronically held information by performing regular reviews and testing of the back-up systems, disaster recoveryPlanning and input into the Business Continuity plan where appropriate.• To advise and inform management, departments and Members on technicalissues as part of the decision making process for technical direction and Procurement of new systems.• Manage and maintain the service within budget, clearly identifying any potential growth requirements.• Design, implement and maintain local network and expansions.• Manage and set priorities for the design, maintenance, development, and evaluation of all infrastructure systems, including LANs, WANs, Internet, intranet, security and wireless implementations.• Administer network workstations, utilizing one or more TCP/IP or non-TCP/IP networking protocols and/or one or more UNIX-based or non-UNIX based operating systems.• Investigate user problems, identify their source, determine possible solutions, test and implement solutions.• Install, configure, and maintain, Ethernet networks, telephone connection, network cabling, and other related equipment, and devices.• Manage and administer remote connectivity VPN, wireless indoor and outdoor coverage.• Manage and administer Wireless Networks (indoor, Outdoor).• Manage and administer Firewalls/UTM’s.• Develop reports on project status and document infrastructure problems and resolutions for future reference.• Troubleshoot networks to identify and correct malfunctions and other operational difficulties.• Identify utilization patterns and their effect availability and performance expectations.• Anticipate communication and networking problems and implement preventive measures.• Define hardware and software standards in conjunction with IT Director and stakeholders.• Establish and perform maintenance programs following company and vendor standards.• Plan and implement network security, including building & Configuring UTM/firewalls.• Ensure timely user notification of maintenance requirements and effects on system availability.• Investigate, recommend and install enhancements and operating procedures that optimize network availability and performance.• Operate master consoles to monitor the performance of computer systems and networks, and to coordinate computer network access and use.• Assess the network to identify potential areas of improvement.• Handle escalated system errors, and confer with network users about how to solve existing system problems• Document network problems and resolutions for future reference.
